Bruce K. Medeiros

Experienced Bankruptcy Counsel

Mr. Medeiros has twenty years of experience representing debtors in bankruptcy cases under Chapters 7, 11, 12, and 13.

Bruce has served as primary debtor’s counsel and as co-counsel in over thirty Chapter 11 and Chapter 12 bankruptcy cases filed in the Eastern District of Washington and the District of Idaho.

The majority of those cases resulted in confirmed plans of reorganization or were successfully resolved prior to confirmation.

Creditor Representation

A significant portion of Mr. Medeiros’s practice is devoted to the representation of creditors in all types of bankruptcy proceedings, including the representation of Creditors’ Committees in Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases.

Bruce also represents creditors in non-bankruptcy matters, including the enforcement of their rights in state court proceedings. He has also served as counsel for court appointed receivers in a number of state court receivership proceedings.

Bruce represents numerous banks and credit unions, and frequently participates in the presentation of seminars on creditors’ and debtors’ rights in bankruptcy and non-bankruptcy proceedings to the legal and financial community.

Representative engagements

American Electronic Sign Co., Inc.

Representation of a manufacturer of electronic highway signs in a Chapter 11 reorganization filed after an adverse patent infringement suit. Successfully negotiated resolution of the patent dispute and confirmed Plan of Reorganization.

Flodin, Inc.

Representation of manufacturer of crop processing equipment that entered Chapter 11 as a result of a temporary decline in sales. Operating expenses were reduced, sales increased, and a consensual Plan of Reorganization was negotiated and confirmed.

Representative engagements

Hanabrook, Inc.

Representation of real estate development company facing management disputes and creditors’ claims. Resolved management issues during Chapter 11 reorganization, and obtained confirmation of consensual Plan of Reorganization.

Uribe, Inc.

Representation of a pipeline subcontractor in a Chapter 11 reorganization that was filed to protect against hostile actions by general contractor. Claims against the general contractor were resolved with the assistance of outside litigation counsel, and a Plan of Reorganization was confirmed.
